VSN Leftover

Happy Friday, everyone! There isn't a Friday Fun Challenge this week because my Sassy Friends and I are going through a crazy busy time between VSN and some personal issues.

You may know already that our dear friend Kim, was in the hospital last weekend. Well, since she was unable to host her VSN Challenge FEB09VSNQ I posted it for her and it was a GREAT challenge. My Mom is in the hospital recovering from a broken hip and the surgery to repair it. I actually made my card for the challenge FOR my Mom on Saturday- she fell on Sunday. So as it turns out this card is not just a "Love You" card for her but also my Get Well Card for her although it was not originally planned that way.

Kim's Challenge was to make a card for someone you love WITHOUT using the colors pink, red or white, or hearts. I used Kraft, Bashful Blue (my Mom's favorite color) and Chocolate Chip.

The sentiment is from Unity called My Mother My Friend. It is HUGE and perfect for scrap booking but as you can see it also can be worked into a card. This card fits in a standard business envelope. The flowers are from Growing in Unity. Thanks for stopping by this week - hopefully we will be back with some Friday Fun next week!

It's VSN Baby and All About the Love!!

It's VSN Weekend! I love it! If you haven't played the challenges in the VSN FORUM there is still time! The challenges need to be uploaded by 10 PM tonight- so that's almost 12 hours of play time! Also several fabulous companies have donated prizes so the more challenges you play the more chances you have to win!
My first card is for The Love of Chocolate Challenge (FEB09VSNB). You were to choose your favorite kind of chocolate and use the color challenge for that flavor. I chose Dark Chocolate and the colors are Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral and Apricot Appeal.

Stamps: Unity KOM Endings & Beginnings, Swooshie Twist
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal
Ink: Brown Stazon Cameo Coral apricot Appeal
Accessories: Dew Drops, Chocolate Ribbon

My next card is for the VSN Challenge One True Love FEB09VSNE to make a Monochromatic Card. I am still surprised I found a Prima flower and Button in matching shades but it worked out!

Stamps: Unity Shine On
Paper: PTI Lavender Moon Plum Pudding and Grid Lines DSP
Ink: Black Stazon, Plum Pudding
Accessories: Nestabilities, Plum Pudding Ribbon, Black Gelly Roll Embossing Pen, Stickles, Dimensionals, White Gel Pen

My next card is the VSN Challenge is for the Long Lost Love Challenge FEB09VSNK. For this challenge you had to use a stamp set that you "had to have" used then put on the shelf never to see ink again. I chose the Stampin' Up Set Roses in Winter. I loved it, had to have it but I only used it a couple times and that was a long time ago. So it was perfect for this challenge.

Stamps: SU Roses in winter
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Bella Rose DSP
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Dimensionals, Double Rectangle Punch, RHR Ribbon, Basic Grey File (for distressing)

My next card is for the VSN Challenge Celebrity Crush FEB09VSNM. The challenge is to make a card for your Celebrity Crush. I LOVE Kenny Chesney and since he loves the beach, sand, and the water I made my nautical card for him.

Stamps: Unity Beach Days & Sun Rays
Paper: Kraft, Baja Breeze, Murfield DSP
Ink: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Baja Breeze Ribbon, Nestabilities, White Gel Pen, Dimensionals

The last card that I am showing you today is for the VSN Challenge Love Starts with an L FEB09VSNN. You were to only use things on your card that start with L. Wow- this one was hard. So I used LOTS of Lavender, Love is Toxic Stamp set and my Labels Nestabilities. Phew!

Stamps: Unity: Love is Toxic
Paper: PTI Lavender Moon, Plum Pudding, Grid Lines DSP
Ink: PTI Plum Pudding
Accessories, Nestabilites, Lavender Moon Ribbon, Stickles, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to play the VSN challenges! I will have more to show you tomorrow!

Unity Addicts Challenge # 24- Looks Like Spring!

It's Wednesday and that means it is time for the Unity Addicts Challenge. This week Amy sent us this BEAUTIFUL picture of tulips for our inspiration. I love the colors- they remind of Spring which really needs to get here SOON!! :)

Since I had a rough day at work yesterday and I never stamp early it seems, I kept my card pretty simple. I also used my February Kit of the Month Endings and Beginnings. There is nothing like finding Happy Mail to get you out of a work day funk. There are so many CUTE images in this kit that I had a hard time choosing but I finally decided on the vase on the table and the sentiments from the kit "happy" and Spring" Be sure to check out the other Unity Addicts' blogs (see sidebar) for more inspiration and join us tomorrow for Hip Hop in the Unity Forum. The blog hop (which is filled with lots of eye candy) starts at 10 am CT (that's 11 am for my fellow Eastern time girls) and the Hip Hopping chat starts at 11. It's sure to be lots of fun! Stamps: Unity endings and Beginnings (Feb KOM)
Paper: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise and Tangerine Tango
Ink: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise and Tangerine Tango
Acessories: Nestabilites, Ribbon, circle punch, Stickles

Thanks for stopping by- have a GREAT day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope that whether you are in love or single that you have fabulous plans today! Today is about love but there are many types of love. Most importantly, you have to love yourself and so I hope that everyone takes even just a few minutes today to do something special for you.
I want to share with you a card that I made for my sweet and lovable boyfriend, Jeff. I just totally LOVE this man. He came into my life at a time when I was sure that I would be alone- and I was ok with it. I am so glad that he arrived and made me see that it wasn't going to be that way! I truly believe he is my soul mate.
Ok...enough gushy, mushy stuff. Onto the reason why you are here- the stamping stuff! I made this card with Unity's Bounded Hearts. The sentiment and the flourish are from January's Kit of the Month Love, etc. which will be available again in March 2009. It's a little bit girly and lovey dovey- but you are allowed to make cards like for guys on Valentine's Day. At least I think so. ;)
Thanks for stopping by and visiting my tiny part of the web. Have a FABULOUS day and weekend!! :)

Thursdays- My Sunshine Days!

Woo hoo! I LOVE Thursdays! It is the beginning of my "weekend" and I am so happy. It is almost 3:30 and I am still in my pajamas stamping and chatting. How can you NOT love that??
I have been wanting to make this card all week. I recently received my Unity Order with Beach Days and Sun Rays and have not had the time to stamp with it. So I made today THE day it saw some ink! It's a pretty "sunny" card, I think and just enough to perk me up from the Winter Blahs! I am ready for some WARMER weather, aren't you?? I can't wait to play some more with this set. Soon...VERY soon!! Thanks for stopping by today!!

Unity Wednesday- ATC VAlentine

This week Lori challenged us to make ATC Valentine cards reminiscent of the cards we gave out as kids at school. You remember those cute little cards that said things, like "Be Mine?" and had cartoon characters? Yeah, those! I thought the Unity Set Cuter Than Most would be PERFECT for this challenge- and I decided to make one for a boy and one for a girl. Check them Out:

Be sure to check out the other Unity Addicts Challenges for more Valentine's. (see sidebar) Feel free to play along- use keyword USC23 when uploading to SCS. Thanks for stopping by!

Rubber Romance Monday- Inside The Box

Happy Monday. This week our challenge in the Rubber Romance group on Papercraft Planet is to make one of the cute Ghiradelli Boxes. I decided to use my cute little martini stamp for the box and then I decided it needed a matching card to make it a gift set because I was having so much fun playing with my new PrismaColor pencils. The card has Margaritas on it and I used Frosted Lace Stickles as "salt on the rim."

Stamps: Rubber Romance
Paper: SU: Basic Black, GP White, Making Memories DP
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: PrismaColor Papers, Stickles, Black Embossing Pen, Nestabilities, Black Satin Ribbon, Filigree Brad from SU

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop by the Rubber Romance Group on PCP to see what everyone else is cooking up today!

Friday Fun # 21- What a challenge!!

Happy Friday!! This week we were issued a challenge from the Fabulous Sara to make a one-layered card. Sounds easy, right! NOT for me! I love the look of clean and simple cards...but that is not MY style. I have a tendency to just put lots of stuff on my card although I have been trying to get better about that. We would love for you to play along. Just use keyword FFC21 when uploading your card to Splitcoast. I can't wait to see what everyone makes!

Unity Addicts Challenge Card- USC22

Happy Thursday- I hope you are ready for Hip Hop. I apologize for posting my card for Wednesday's challenge a day late- but I caught the flu or something and I have been down with it. Thanks to Zicam and some good old-fashioned rest I am feeling a lot more human today.

This week our fabulous friend Carole challenged us to use a non-valentine stamp in a valentine kind of way- and we also had to use ribbon AND buttons on our card. I used the little whale from Mix up of Cuteness and the sentiment Love Ya. I just recently bought this kit and I was pretty excited for the chance to use it. In fact. the stamping may have helped me feel better more than the Zicam did. ;)

Stamps: Unity Mix up of Cuteness
Paper: PTI White; SU Tempting Turquoise CS and Prints DSP; Cool Caribbean
Ink: Black Stazon, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Stickles, Ribbon, Buttons, Nestabilities, Gelly Roll Black Embossing Pen

Rubber Romance Monday on Paper Craft Planet

I know Mondays stink but hopefully you can find something good out of today- like maybe a good stamping challenge. ;) This is the second week of the Rubber Romance challenge on PaperCraftPlanet. Last week Kim and Jimmi came up with some fabulous creations and this week I am joining them.
Our challenge this week is to make a card using the new trend of gray and yellow. While I have seen the beautiful creations in the latest Paper Crafts magazine I was skeptical of my own ability to make these colors look good. I actually think I like stamping with these colors and I will definitely try it again.
I used the Diva Stamp Bunnie for my card and my FAVORITE sentiment, "it's all about ME" The colors I used are Stampin' Up's So Saffron and Basic Gray. I also used some chipboard pieces that I received from my Secret Santa to accent the images. I am really trying to use chipboard more often.

Thanks for stopping by on your busy Monday! If you play along in the PCP forum use the tag RRC2 when you upload your card.
