Viva Las VSN March Mini

I hope you had a chance to play in the VSN March Mini. If you didn't have time to do the challenges, don't stress because there will be another Mini in April and the main event will be on May 15th and 16th.
For the March Mini the six "Pit Bosses" took you on a tour of some of the most fabulous hotels in Las Vegas. Unfortunately since I had a busy week, I only got to visit three of the hotels. But I had a great time.
First up is the Circus Circus hotel. The challenge was to make a card inspired by the circus and to use ORANGE on your card.

Stamps: My Favorite Things: It's a Jungle Out There
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Hawaii Papaya DSP
Ink: Brown Stazon, Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, So Saffron

The next hotel on our weekend trip is the Bellagio. This challenge was to use a transparency and flowers on your card (like the beautiful ceiling of the Bellagio). What a fun time!

Stamps: Unity Something Within and Just Circles
Paper: PTI Raspberry Fizz
Ink: Black Stazon, Raspberry Fizz
Accessories, Nestabilities, Ribbon

The next and last hotel on MY trip is The Venetian. With it's beautiful marble floors and the gondolas floating down the man-made canals the Venetian is the ultimate in luxury. This challenge was to use the colors found in the lobby of the famous hotel: Yellow/Gold, Burgundy, Blue, White/Cream. Here is the card I made for that challenge- I think it fits the Italian feel of the hotel.
Stamps: Unity Teatime Toile, Beauty Within
Paper: So Saffron, Night of Navy, Bravo Burgundy, PTI White
Ink: So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Navy Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to catch more VSN action next month and make room on your calendars to play along!

Friday Fun # 25

Happy Friday! Are you ready for the weekend? Saturday is going to be an amazingly FUN day! There is the Unity World Record Blog Hop tomorrow...and then there is also the Mini VSN!! You can visit SIX Vegas hotels without leaving your stamp room! I know where I will be tomorrow....right here at my computer and stamp table. I can't wait!
Today's Friday Fun Challenge is brought to us by Sara. She sent us a picture of this book cover as our inspiration:
Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls - they are sure to have something wonderful for you to see!
I took the inspiration somewhat literally however I used red instead of pink. I just think it pops more. The umbrella girl is from Rubber Romance and I popped up the umbrella in red. The sentiment and the branches are from Unity. So it's really a mixed up card. I chose that sentiment because I think it captures the playfulness of the character playing in the fountain.

Stamps: Rubber Romance; Unity Sentiments O'Simple, Oh what a Beautiful Morning
Paper: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Real Red; PTI White
Ink: Black Stazon, asst. markers
Accessories: Black Gelly Roll embossing pen, Gingham Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by. If you want to play along just use keyword FFC25 when uploading to SCS! Can't wait to see what everyone creates!

Good morning! Today's Challenge was from Cyndi and she challenged us to use the colors Brown Pink, Orange and Turquoise! I think that is a Great color scheme- a little out of my comfort zone, but beautiful nonetheless.
I got my Hip Hop order yesterday so I inked up Feel the Joy. Can you feel it? I can. :) I made my own patterned paper with the stamp using Versamark and I also used a butterfly from the past kit of the month.
Be sure to check out the other Unity Addicts blogs- I am sure they have some yummy eye candy for you! Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Unity Feel the Joy

Saturday Fun with Unity's Kit of the Month!

Photobucket

I had so much fun stamping yesterday that I kept going. :) That darn Kit of the Month from Unity is just too darn fun to put away! I love it! If you haven't signed up yet, you have until the end of the month to get this kit for the amazing price of $24 plus $5 shipping! There are so many stamps and they are the perfect size! I must say that Unity comes out with the perfect kit every month! I don't know how they do it- they must be creative geniuses. ;)

On this card I used the candy and the sentiment "You and Me simple and Sweet" from the kit. While I was out in Arizona I managed to visit some of the craft stores that we don't have here. I couldn't buy a whole lot since my suitcase was already loaded but I did pick up some paper. I used the DCWV Sweet Glitter matstack for this card. Perfect with those little strawberries, don't ya think? Inside is a special message for a friend of mine. I have one piece of candy popped up on a dimensional for some added "oomph."

Stamps: Unity March KOM Simple Life
Paper: SU Pink Pirouette, Gable Green, Real Red; PTI White; DCWV Sweet matstack
Ink: black Stazon, Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Gable Green
Accessories: Real Red Striped Grosgrain, Nestabilities, Buttons, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope to have more stamping goodness for you soon! :)

I'm Back with Some Friday FUN! #24

I finally stamped again and it felt GREAT!! This week's Friday Fun Challenge is hosted by yours truly and I chose clothes from my favorite store for an inspiration challenge. This week the challenge is to pick an outfit from this page on the NY & Co website and base a card around it. Be sure to check out more Friday Fun cards on the following blogs and welcome Kimme (melenaprincess) to the group! We are soooo excited to have her join us!
Jimmi- The Stamping Shopper
Kim- Papertastic Creations
Sara- Expressions of a Creative Mind
Kimme- The Life of a Princess

I chose the shirt above for my inspiration. I LOVE brown and white together for a spring/summer look. I love the colors and print of this blouse - I may have to go look for it at the store. I love it!
My card uses Unity's latest Kit of the Month: Simple Life. I just got it in the mail and it really cheered me up! The sentiment is from the Simply Said kit designed by AJ Otto.

We would love for you to play along! Just use keyword FFC24 when uploading to the Splitcoast Gallery and feel free to link your creations back to one of the team blogs! Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a Happy Friday!

Thanks for the Cyber Hugs!

I know I have been MIA for the past few days but I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been getting your messages and I appreciate all the cyber hugs and warm wishes and prayers. It truly means a lot to me. My Mother's passing is very hard however I believe that she is in a better place and free of the illness that she has been fighting now for several years.

After a a day and a half trying to get a flight out (darn winter storm) I finally made it to Arizona last night. My original flight was scheduled to leave Sunday afternoon but I ended up flying in on the same plane as my brother 24 hours later. It has been exhausting to say the least- but I am here in one piece and that's all that matters.

I had a bittersweet moment this morning. Many of my truly wonderful SCS friends have sent cards to my Mom. I had the pleasure of opening them and reading the kind and thoughtful things that everyone wrote. Thank you so much for your warmth and generosity. I have truly "met" some wonderful people and it is amazing to me how kind everyone is to someone they barely know. SCS is a group of truly amazing and strong women (and some guys too) and I feel so blessed by your support.

Thank you for everything!! It means more to me right now that you can even imagine and I am cyber hugging you back.
