Friday Fun and the Caffinated Cropper Blog Hop - Two Cards- One Post!

It's Friday and I have a lot to share with you today.  We are having a blog hop for Caffinated Cropper plus it's the Friday Fun Challenge (#79).  It's a good thing that the With a Cherry On Top kit works perfectly with this week's Friday Fun Challenge because I can't stop using it.
For the Friday Fun Challenge Christi gave us one of her favorite Spring Color Combos to play with.  The colors are Green, Pink, Cream and Kraft.  Any shades of those colors will work.  I also used the sketch from the Card Patterns Blog (#60) for my layout.  Everything on this card with the exception of the Kraft Base and Mint Green and Vanilla card stock is from the With a Cherry On Top Kit.  (that is REAL fabric and cork on the card)  The image is one of the digital stamps from Lindsay Spencer created exclusively for this kit.
Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' Blogs for more inspiration:

My next card is a card that I had to create just for the fun of it.  I made an apron using a template I found on Mirkwood Designs. (I changed the printing scale to make the card larger than the original template) This card was just so fun to make and the papers and trims in this kit were a perfect fit for this card.  Plus, I got to use my new sewing machine which I am in love with.  EVERYTHING (except the card base) is from this kit.
This is the card with the tag in the "front pocket"

This is a view of the tag

And here is what the card looks like if you take the tag out of the pocket.

Don't forget that with your purchase of the April kit, With a Cherry On Top you will also receive $10 gift certificates to the Whimsy Haven Store AND to EAD Designs.  This kit is an amazing deal that you do NOT want to miss out on.  Also- if you are sad because you missed out on the March Kit, The Beeez Kneeez, then you may want to know that Amy has ONE Beeez Kneeez kit left and she is bundling it with The Cherry on Top Kit for a fantastic price with FREE SHIPPING!   Everything is on Sale this weekend including some bundles and giveaways.  DON'T MISS OUT!  RUN, do not walk to Amy's blog to purchase your kits!  (sorry, I have always wanted to use that phrase...LOL)

Still not sure about With a Cherry on Top?  Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's creations- including Michele our May Guest Designer!  I know by the end of this hop you will have to have this kit.

Trying Some New Things...

Hello!  Today I have a card for some challenges on SplitCoaststampers.com that I don't normally participate in.  I FINALLY had some time to stamp and went browsing on SCS and felt like I could combine the Technique Lover's Challenge (#269) and the Clean and Simple Challenge (#63) to make a card.  The Technique Lover's Challenge was to use paper-piercing on your card.  The Clean and Simple challenge was a sketch challenge.
I kept it simple today and made a one-layer card. (gasp!!)  This card took less than 15 minutes to complete.  ALL supplies can be purchased at Mark's Finest Papers.  The stamp set is called Butterflies, Dianthus and Flourishes.  I used my new Janome Sew Mini to create all the paper-piercing.  I stamped the butterfly on the Corn Husk card base AND onto some Breezy Blue card stock.  I cut the butterflies our and popped them up.  Then I inked the edges (I don't know why...the mood just hit me..LOL) It's a simple, easy card but I hope you like it.  Thanks for stopping by- have a great day!!

Caffinated Cropper and Etsy-Inspired Challenge all in one!

Did you know that Caffinated Cropper is sponsoring this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge?  Amy is giving away a Mini Cherry Kit to a random winner for participating in the challenge.  This week's featured Etsy Shop is Cose Dolci.  All you need to do for a chance to win the Mini Cherry kit is to choose an item from the shop and create a card or 3-d item inspired by that item and link it back to the Etsy Inspired Blog HERE.

Here is the item from the store I chose as my inspiration:

Here is the card I made based on this felt bowl:
Everything I used to make this card with the exception of the Kraft Card Base is from the April Card Kit from Caffinated Cropper- With A Cherry On Top.  Do you have this kit yet?  No??  Then you'd better hurry because it is filled with lots of FUN stuff and once it's sold out- it's gone forever.  It would be a tragedy to miss out on this kit...(ok that's a tiny bit melodramatic...but only a tiny bit!).

Thanks for stopping by today- please come back on Friday when the Caffinated Cropper Design Team will have another blog hop for your viewing pleasure!  Have a GREAT day!

Rubber Romance Wine Bottle Card

Today I want to share with you a card that I made over the weekend.  I was just browsing the web and I stumbled across this site called Mirkwood Designs that has a page FULL of templates for card-making and boxes.  When I saw the champagne bottle template, I just KNEW that I had to make a wine bottle card with my Rubber Romance stamps.

When I printed the template I increased the scale to 140% because the original scale was just too small for me.  Then I cut out the wine bottle and started decorating!

I used the RR stamps Time is the Maker and the Vino.  I chose this patterned paper from Webster's Pages because it reminded me of a wine bottle label and the colors blended with the color of my card base.  The wine bottle cork is actually left over cork from when I was making tile coasters and using that for the backing.  I cut out a little piece for the top.

I made the paper flower using the Webster Pages and cutting out different size blossoms with my Nestabilities.  You could also use punches if you don't have the Nestabilities.  I spritzed them with water and also with some Glimmer Mist, crumpled them up and then layered them on top of each other and put the brad through the middle.  Then I attached it to the card.

I would love to know what you think!  If you try out any of the templates from Mirkwood Designs, please share with me  I can't wait to see everyone's creations!

With a Cherry On Top Blog Hop!

Have you gotten your April card kit from Caffinated Cropper yet?  Well, if not- then be sure to check out today's Design Team Blog Hop so you can find out why you "need" it.

Today's card has a couple of "firsts" for me.  I printed and used my first digi stamp from the kit Lindsay Spencer designed exclusively for the With a Cherry On Top kit.  It was a lot of fun to work with the images.  I also sewed for the first time.  I was so excited when I got the sewing machine to work.  I still need a lot of practice, but hopefully my erratic stitching lends to the hand-made charm of the card.  I created the sentiment using the My Little Shoebox Alpha Stickers in Red Lipstick that come in the kit.  I love these!

I hope you enjoyed my "firsts" as much as I did.  I might be stepping into a new era in my stamping.....it's a lot fun!  Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's Blogs for more CHERRYLICIOUS Inspiration!

I can't wait for you to see more with this kit- so get to hoppin'!

A-P-R-I-L Means Friday Fun and Friends with Flair!

That means it's time for some Friday Fun and Unit's Friends with Flair!  Are you excited?  I am.  This weekend will be jam-packed with all kinds of fun stuff.  I cannot wait!!
This week's Friday Fun Challenge is brought to us by Christi.  It's a good challenge (how does she come up with such clever stuff?)  Here it is:

Create a card using all the following elements:
A- animal
P- polkadots
R- ruffle
I- inked edges
L- label (or journaling block that looks like a label)

I told you it was a challenge.  To create my card I pulled out my Unity Stamps and my March Card kit from Caffinated Cropper, The Beeez Kneeez.  (Amy still has just a few of these left...if you haven't gotten yours yet you need to asap! )   I just love the greens and yellows in the kit- and they are a perfect pair with Unity stamps.  All paper and embellishments are from the Beeez Kneeez kit except the ribbon and the plain white card stock (both of which are from PTI).
If you think you can handle the A-P-R-I-L challenge Christi issued just use keyword FFC77 when  uploading to SCS. Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' blogs for more challenge samples:

Also- be sure to check out the Unity BLOG to get the whole list of Friends with Flair- if you aren't familiar with FWF it's when Unity customers showcase their stamps and talent.  It's LOTS of fun and very inspirational.
That's all I have for today....Have a GREAT weekend!

The Beeez Kneeez Strikes Again!

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are enjoying this fabulous day!  I know I am- the windows are open, the sun is shining, my boyfriend is cutting the grass for me (so I don't have to...he he).  I am cleaning the house today but I got a little distracted while dusting my stamp area......(happens all the time).  I had an idea that some of the Rubons from the Beeez Kneez kit (from EAD exclusive to this kit) would be perfect for my drawer on my stamp table.  So...I did what anyone would do- I put them on there!  This is how it turned out:

Pretty cute, huh?  Best thing is- if I change my mind they will just come right off.  So, if you are still on the fence about getting the Beeez Kneeez kit.....maybe this will help you out.  Amy only has a few left- so if you want to let everyone in your house know you are the Queen Bee and wear the crown.....and make some FUN and fabulous cards while you're at it- Hurry up and order a kit Today!  Also- Tuesday the DT will giving you a look at the New April Kit...You won't want to miss it....it's definitely going to be Cherrylicious!   :)
That's all for today- have a great day and Happy Easter!!
