InStyle with Mojo Monday # 180

Happy Monday!  (sorry- today is the beginning of my weekend, so I may be a little happier than most)  I apologize for the late post, but this day and month has gotten away from me quickly!  Granted, February is a short month, but phew!  It was a busy month too!
Today's card uses the soon-to-be released Butterfly Journal from InStyle Stamps.   This image is great for both card-making and scrapbooking.  It's fun and cute.  I decided to use this week's Mojo Monday Sketch (#180).  Combined with my Graphic 45 Times Nouveau Collection which included a die-cut alphabet the card came together quickly.
Thanks for stopping by today- I hope you enjoy your day, even if it is a Monday.  Have a great day!!

Etsy Inspired # 128 - The Hidden Alphabet

Welcome to this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge!  Be sure to check out the EIC Blog for all the details but here is what I know!  This week's Inspiration store is The Hidden Alphabet.  I have to tell you, that everyone should visit this shop at least once.  This is a really unique (at least I think so) concept- and SO cool.  One winner of this week's challenge will win an awesome "LOVE" print like this one:

I chose my initial "S" as my inspiration for my project this week.  I also tried a new technique (for me) Faux Postage.

This is what I came up with:

The challenge will have 2 winners- 1 will win the Love Print from the Hidden Alphabet and another will win a prize package from our Sponsor: Paper and Roses.   Check out the rest of the Design Team's Posts for more ideas and inspiration as well as details on how you can win one of this week's fabulous prizes!

Friday Fun- Mad for Plaid!

Happy Friday! Today is Kimme's last challenge for this month and it is so much fun!  Check it out!
Feb 26-- I am going to a sorority date party this weekend trying to re-live my college days (what I remember of them.)  The theme for this party is Perfectly Plaid.  We will all be wearing anything we can find in plaid; skirts, shirts, pj's, anything and everything plaid, and the more you clash the better.  The challenge is to make a card with plaid on it.  Any colors are fine.
So much fun, right??!!  If I had read the challenges ahead of time, I could have saved my card from 2 weeks ago....but that's ok.  I found some more plaid-ish paper for a totally different look.
 Stamps: Unity
Paper: Mark's Finest Papers Pensacoloa Sand; PTI Red Poppy; Basic Grey June Bug
Ink: PTI Red Poppy and Enchanted Evening
Be sure to check out the rest of the Friday Fun Girls' blogs - feel free to play along- it's really FUN!!
Have a great weekend!

It's Friday!!

Happy Friday!!  I am going to make this a short post because my work schedule has gotten all messed up this week due to a computer glitch (i.e. MELTDOWN) at our customer's plants.  In order to catch everything up, they are having me work overnight and then switch back to days.  yippee.......Anyway- if you have a normal job, then you are HAPPY it's Friday, and I am happy for you!  This week's challenge is brought to us again by Kimme.  We are celebrating THE Mouse- Mickey.  Kimme is going to Disneyworld and so in honor of Mickey we are making cards with at least THREE Circles, representing Mickey.  Oh, and I think she said something about getting a tattoo.......GO Kimme!  (ok, I don't think she really is getting the tat, but wouldn't that be fun?)
I pulled out an old kit from Caffeinated Cropper called the Bee's Knees.   I loved it so much and there was oodles and oodles of stuff in there.  I hope Amy starts selling the kits again one day.  They were just awesome.
I used more than three circles on my card.  The layout is the Mojo Monday sketch # 178.  The sketch worked perfectly for adding the circle elements to my card.  What do you think? Be sure to check out the rest of the Friday Fun Cards (see below)  Enjoy your day!!

A Little Valentine's Treat

I  hope you are having a Fantastic Day! I technically don't have a Sweetie....but....that's all I'm going to say about that right now.  :)  I DO have a set of Valentine's Day cards to show you.  I made a card for a co-worker to give to his Sweetie....and since it's just as easy to make two at once, I made an extra.  The intended recipient of my co-worker's card loves orange so I got to use the Echo Park paper I just picked up at a local craft store I just discovered.  I also like that they aren't your typical pink and red.  Don't get me wrong, I love pink and red Valentine's - but it is fun to try to do them differently.

The image is from Unity's Jan 2010 Store Kit Livin' and Lovin' Life.  The hearts are the Tim Holtz Grungeboard I bought several months ago that I inked and covered with paper.  I tried rolling a flower for the first time.....I would love to know what you think!  Thanks for stopping by today- have a great Valentine's Day and Monday and week!

Etsy Inspired Challenge # 126

This week's Etsy Inspired Challenge Shop is Glow Girl.  In this shop you will find some wonderful hand made coupon organizers, grocery totes and even reusable snack bags!  I have recently started couponing and I have to say- I would LOVE one of those organizers.  The fabrics available range from cute to stylish.  Yes, I NEED one of these organizers.....but I can't win the prize.  But YOU can win a Regular or Mega coupon organizer just by playing the EIC Challenge this week.  Check out these items:

I didn't choose one particular item for my inspiration (how could I- too much to choose from).  My inspiration came from the colors of the items and the floral images.  I just love the pinks, greens and browns found in many of the items and it also gave me an excuse to use my new Basic Grey Curio paper:
The image I used is from this week's Sponsor The Stamping Boutique.  This store has tons of great images, but I've been craving cupcakes lately- so this Cupcake Bakery image called my name.  One challenge participant will win 5 digital images of their choice from The Stamping Boutique.  How cool is that?
Be sure to check out the EIC Blog for all the details on how you can win one of the fabulous prizes.  Be sure to check out the EIC Design Team's blogs for more ideas and inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by- GOOD LUCK!!

Friday Fun- Inspiration Challenge!

Happy Friday!  I need to make this post short because I am running behind and I have to go to work- BUT I couldn't go without sharing the Friday Fun Challenge with you.  This week, Kimme gave us this cute girls' outfit as our inspiration.  It's so darling- I would love to see the twins in it.  CUTE!!

Here is my card- I kept it simple because I am sending it to a guy.  I struggled with not adding more stuff to it.  LOL.  But I think it's enough.  The stamps are Unity's September 2010 KOM {when I am with you} and the paper is the Lucky Me Collection from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' Blogs to see what they came up with.

Have a GREAT Friday!

Friday Fun is SUPER Fun This Week!

Happy Friday!  This month, Kimme is our challenge hostess and she has started us off with a super fun challenge!  While she was at CHA last week she had lots of cool experiences and one of them inspired this challenge (I will let her tell you what the experience was).  This week's Challenge is to make a Bra card OR a Criss-Cross Pocket Card.  You can download the template for the Bra/Panty card on Stampowl's Blog and the SCS tutorial for the Criss Cross Card can be found HERE.  I went with the Bra card because they are so easy and fun to make!

I used Stampin' Up's Blush Blossom for my card base because that was the paper I had that looked most like skin- But I am sure there are lots of other options out there for the base.  I used ribbon, buttons and twine from The Twinery
Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' Blogs - I can't wait to see their creations!!
