Friday Fun is BACK!!!

It's a New Year and time for the Friday Fun Challenge again!  This week's challenge is hosted by Jimmi and she is starting us off with an inspiration challenge.  I must say, this challenge was very difficult for me.  I am still trying to get back into my groove and find my routine after moving and working my weird schedule.  It makes me sad that stamping used to be 2nd nature to me and now I am struggling.  It's like starting all over again!  But I will get back to where I was.
Jimmi's challenge this week is to make a card or project inspired by this Chinese New year place setting:

I tried to incorporate the colors and textures in my card along with using this week's Sketch Challenge on SCS # 314. The image and sentiment is from PaperMakeup Stamps.  I've had it for awhile and I have really been wanting to use it on a project.  I am sure you will see it again!

Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' Blogs for more inspiration.  As always, feel free to play along- there's no prize it's just for FUN.  (I guarantee you will enjoy this challenge!)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Tomorrow is the Etsy Inspired Challenge and you will not want to miss this week's challenge.  The inspiration is a lot easier than today's picture.  LOL.  Have a great day and some Friday Fun!!

Are you lovin' this kit yet?  If not, wait until you see what the awesome Design Team (including TWO Guest Designers for May) have come up with.

Now are you ready to see what I made with this kit?  I combined TWO challenges.  This week's Friday Fun Challenge is brought to us my Kim.  The challenge is to make a card using a hand-made flower.  If you would like to play along, (and it would be so much fun if you did) use keyword FFC81 when uploading to SCS so we can find your creations.  The other challenge I played today is the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (#137)  So finally (thank you for staying with me this long) here is my card:

EVERYTHING on this card is from the Birds of a Feather Kit with the exception of the Gray Card Base and the white panel that I printed the image on.  I was so excited to use the Silver Fox Smooch on my image- and I brushed it on the petals of my flower.  Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' for more inspiration:

Just a few more things- Be sure to leave a comment on each of the Design Team Blogs on the hop.  You just never know when you might get lucky with some blog candy...I'm just sayin'.  Also, check out Amy's blog for the customer challenge(s) and to sign up for the customer blog hop.  We want to see what you do with this kit- I just know you will love it!
Thanks for stopping by today- have a GREAT weekend!

Friday Fun and the Caffinated Cropper Blog Hop - Two Cards- One Post!

It's Friday and I have a lot to share with you today.  We are having a blog hop for Caffinated Cropper plus it's the Friday Fun Challenge (#79).  It's a good thing that the With a Cherry On Top kit works perfectly with this week's Friday Fun Challenge because I can't stop using it.
For the Friday Fun Challenge Christi gave us one of her favorite Spring Color Combos to play with.  The colors are Green, Pink, Cream and Kraft.  Any shades of those colors will work.  I also used the sketch from the Card Patterns Blog (#60) for my layout.  Everything on this card with the exception of the Kraft Base and Mint Green and Vanilla card stock is from the With a Cherry On Top Kit.  (that is REAL fabric and cork on the card)  The image is one of the digital stamps from Lindsay Spencer created exclusively for this kit.
Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' Blogs for more inspiration:

My next card is a card that I had to create just for the fun of it.  I made an apron using a template I found on Mirkwood Designs. (I changed the printing scale to make the card larger than the original template) This card was just so fun to make and the papers and trims in this kit were a perfect fit for this card.  Plus, I got to use my new sewing machine which I am in love with.  EVERYTHING (except the card base) is from this kit.
This is the card with the tag in the "front pocket"

This is a view of the tag

And here is what the card looks like if you take the tag out of the pocket.

Don't forget that with your purchase of the April kit, With a Cherry On Top you will also receive $10 gift certificates to the Whimsy Haven Store AND to EAD Designs.  This kit is an amazing deal that you do NOT want to miss out on.  Also- if you are sad because you missed out on the March Kit, The Beeez Kneeez, then you may want to know that Amy has ONE Beeez Kneeez kit left and she is bundling it with The Cherry on Top Kit for a fantastic price with FREE SHIPPING!   Everything is on Sale this weekend including some bundles and giveaways.  DON'T MISS OUT!  RUN, do not walk to Amy's blog to purchase your kits!  (sorry, I have always wanted to use that phrase...LOL)

Still not sure about With a Cherry on Top?  Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's creations- including Michele our May Guest Designer!  I know by the end of this hop you will have to have this kit.

A-P-R-I-L Means Friday Fun and Friends with Flair!

That means it's time for some Friday Fun and Unit's Friends with Flair!  Are you excited?  I am.  This weekend will be jam-packed with all kinds of fun stuff.  I cannot wait!!
This week's Friday Fun Challenge is brought to us by Christi.  It's a good challenge (how does she come up with such clever stuff?)  Here it is:

Create a card using all the following elements:
A- animal
P- polkadots
R- ruffle
I- inked edges
L- label (or journaling block that looks like a label)

I told you it was a challenge.  To create my card I pulled out my Unity Stamps and my March Card kit from Caffinated Cropper, The Beeez Kneeez.  (Amy still has just a few of these left...if you haven't gotten yours yet you need to asap! )   I just love the greens and yellows in the kit- and they are a perfect pair with Unity stamps.  All paper and embellishments are from the Beeez Kneeez kit except the ribbon and the plain white card stock (both of which are from PTI).
If you think you can handle the A-P-R-I-L challenge Christi issued just use keyword FFC77 when  uploading to SCS. Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' blogs for more challenge samples:

Also- be sure to check out the Unity BLOG to get the whole list of Friends with Flair- if you aren't familiar with FWF it's when Unity customers showcase their stamps and talent.  It's LOTS of fun and very inspirational.
That's all I have for today....Have a GREAT weekend!

Friday Fun # 76- This is NO April Fools Joke.....

Happy Friday!!  April is finally here and it is my favorite month of the year.  The leaves are filling in on the trees, flowers are starting to bloom and the days are getting longer.  Spring is here and that makes me happy.  Our Friday Fun Hostess for April is Christi.  Her challenge this week is NOT an April Fool's joke.

April 2- Our Back to Basics day
No stamping and... for an extra challenge add an Easter twist (whatever you choose) to this card.
No, you eyes are not deceiving you- it says NO STAMPING.   At first I thought this would be easy...but when I thought about adding the Easter twist....I realized I had my work cut out for me.  Or in today's case....punched out.  :)  I broke out my new Martha Stewart Punches and some Nestabilities to make my card.  For the sentiment, I had to get a little more creative and think outside of the box.  I faux-stitched the Happy and wrote Easter with a white gel pen.

All card stock, patterned paper, and ribbon is available at Mark's Finest Papers.
Accessories: MS Butterfly Double Punch and Fence Border Punch;  White button, Strawberry Freeze Gingham Ribbon, White Gel Pen and Blossom 2 Nestabilities

If you think you are up to the challenge, we would love for you to play with us.  Just keyword FFC76 when uploading to SCS and/or link back to one of the Friday Fun Girls' blogs.  Be sure to check the other Friday Fun Projects for more ideas:

Friday Fun # 75- Spring is HERE!

TGIF!!  I am looking forward to this weekend- I really can't wait for two days off.  I don't have any special plans except to organize my stamping area and stamp.  Oh yeah- and sleep in past 4 am.....(yay!)  This week's Friday Fun Challenge is brought to us by Kimme.  It's the last week of the month so this is her last challenge for a while.  She could have made us celebrate National Cleaning Week (March 29-April 3) but thankfully, she refrained and we are celebrating Spring instead. (Phew!)  For this week's challenge we are to use pastel shades of green, yellow, and blue.  I took a little bit further and added pink and purple.  Honestly, I just got carried away with my new papers and stamps, so I really didn't pay attention to the exact colors.  BUT it's just a challenge for FUN so I'm rolling with it.

My card is also a sneak peek of the April Release from Mark's Finest Papers.  I am the guest designer for April, so you will be seeing more of this stamp set and 3 others starting next week.  ;)  All papers and embellishments for this card are available at Mark's Finest Papers.

Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers Spring Breeze (being released in April)
Paper: Mark's Finest Papers Pensacola Sand, Special Mint, Grandma's Lightest Pink and Basic Grey Kioshi (and YES you can buy that at MFP too!)
We would love for you to play along with us- just use keyword FFC72 when uploading to Splitcoast and/or link back to one of the Friday Fun Girls' blogs.  Be sure to check them all out :

It's Friday Fun with Chocolate!

Happy Friday!  I am so ready for today- it's been a long (but good) week.  Phew!  Today's Friday Fun Challenge is brought to us by Kimme.  It's National Chocolate Week.  Did you know that?  I didn't- it's not like I NEED an excuse to enjoy it.  lol.  This is our challenge:
This is American Chocolate Week March 15-21 and today is National Chocolate Caramel Day.  You can use chocolate colors or images or anything else that makes you think of this wonderful confection.
Today's card uses the Diva Chef from Rubber Romance. I just LOVE this image.  She's so sassy.....plus she's holding a cake.  I love cake.
Be sure to check out all the Friday Fun Girls' cards.  They are sure to have some stampy sweetness for you.

Friday Fun # 72 and Unity Friends with Flair

TGIF!  This is my first week in years that I am working Monday thru Friday.  I think I like it.  :)  Having said that- I am REALLY glad it's finally Friday.  This weekend should be lots of fun and I also get to share my Friday Fun card with you.
This month Kimme is the Friday Fun hostess and boy, is she really giving us a whopper of a challenge.  This week's challenge (FFC72) is to make a card with NO COLORING.  Get out your solid stamps and colored ink pads.  Extra points if you stamp your background instead of using patterned paper.  Well I figured I would go for broke and stamp everything (with the exception of a little bit of paper-piecing).  So here is my card using Unity's Tea Time Toile Background stamp and the June 09 Kit of the Month Perfect in Every Way. (this kit is one of my favorites that I go back to again and again)

Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls cards.  We would love for you to play along- just use keyword FFC72 when uploading to SCS or link back to one of the Friday Fun Girls' blogs- that is if you are up to the challenge.  ;)

I do have one more thing I want to share with you- when I was looking for some solid stamps to use I opened a drawer that I haven't checked in a long time and look at all these stamps:
Some of them haven't even been inked up yet- can you believe it?  It is like Christmas in March.  :)
Thanks for visiting my blog today- be sure to check out the Unity Blog for the list of Friends with Flair participants.  It will definitely be worth your time to visit all the blogs.

Friday Fun # 66 and Friends With Flair

Happy Friday! A lot of my friends are in California for CHA. I hope they are arriving safely and having a great time. For the rest of us, it's time for this week's Friday Fun Challenge. This week's Challenge, brought to us by Sara is to make a tea-themed card or project in honor of National Hot Tea Month. Pretty cool idea, don't you think? Since I have some lovely Unity Stamps that are tea-themed, I decided to combine the Friday Fun Challenge with Unity's Friends With Flair. Once I decided to do that, I had another issue....which tea-themed stamps do I choose? They are all so wonderful.....SO I decided to make TWO projects for today.

My first project is a Tea Bag Holder. Here's the front :

Here is the Inside of the holder:
Stamps: Unity Aug 08 KOM Rememeber Happiness and Dec 09 KOM Delightful Moments
Paper: SU: Old Olive, Yo Yo Yellow, Basic Grey Origins
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Ribbon, Nestabilities Labels 6, Linen Thread, Dimensionals

And here is a card I made with the Tea Pot from June 09 KOM:

Stamps: Unity June 09 KOM Perfect In Every Way
Paper: SU Old Olive, Yo Yo Yellow; PTI White; Basic Grey Origins
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; SU Old Olive
Accessories: Square Nestabilities, Foam Tape, Lace Trim

Friday Fun # 65- Inside and Out

It's Friday! Today's Friday Fun Challenge is brought to us by Sara. Inspired by the Moxie Fab World blog's recent Start to Finish Challenge- we are going to make cards and decorate the inside too! That doubles your stamping pleasure. :)
My card today uses this week's sketch over at CPS. It's such a simple and fun layout- perfect for any card you want to make. Here's the front of the card:

I kept the design for the inside simple, but I couldn't resist adding a button. The main images are from the recently- released Unity kit Treasure to Me. I just love the fun and feminine images in this set. The sentiment on the inside is from the December 09 kit of the month Delightful Moments.

We would love for you to play along- just use keyword FFC65 when uploading to Splitcoast. Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' blogs for more Inside & Out cards.

Friday Fun #64 with Friends with Flair!

TGIF!! Are you ready for the weekend? I love Fridays and Saturdays....Sundays not so much. lol. Today's Friday Fun Challenge is issued by Sara. Since her parents just celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary she wants us to make a travel-themed card. Apparently, if you celebrate 43 years together you get to travel. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

Since this is also Unity's Friends With Flair Friday- I broke out my Unity stamps. This cute airplane is from Sketchy Little Boy. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Lil' Man series. I tried a few things on this card that are a little different for me, I would love to know what you think.
Be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Girls' Travel cards. If you want to play along with us (and we would love it if you did) then use keyword FFC64 when uploading to SCS.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year- I am so excited that it's finally 2010. I just really believe this is going to be the best year ever. :) Today I have my Friday Fun Challenge card- and it is also my Friends With Flair card for Unity. You KNOW the first card of the New year had to be made with Unity stamps. ;)
The first Friday Fun Challenge of the New Year is brought to us by Sara. Its a color challenge to use Black and Silver or Gold (white can be used also as a neutral). Basically- Party colors. :)

For my card, I used the Jar of Happiness from Unity's Nov 09 KOM Simply Magical. The numbers are from Just My Type Alpha which came out last January. The ribbon is from a big bag of loose ribbon from various ribbon shares and RAKs. We would love to see your Black and Silver cards so please play along. Use Keyword FFC63 when uploading to SCS. Thanks Kim and Kath!!

Thank you so much! I stamped today because of your blog challenge. I forgot how much I love to stamp- but I remember now. :)

You challenged me to make a card using at least one color from EACH SU color family (not including IN Colors) and a neutral. That was harder than it sounded I can tell you.

The colors I used were Bashful Blue- Soft Subtles; Real Red- Bold Brights; Pumpkin Pie- Earth Elements; and So Saffron- Rich Regals. I used the Prints DSP for all except the Pumpking Pie. I did not have any Prints in Earth Elements so that DSP is from Bali Breeze.

I also wanted to use some new goodies that I hadn't had much chance to play with. Those would be my new MFT stamps and Nestabilities. I love those Nesties. I wasn't sure if I would but they are great. I think I have to have them ALL now. hehe.

Anyway- thanks for the challenge and thanks for looking!!
Stamps: My Favorite Things : By the Seashore
Paper: (all SU) Basic Black, White, Bashful Blue, Bali Breeze DSP, Prints DSP in Bashful Blue, Real Red, and So Saffron
Ink: Black Stazon, Various SU Markers
Accessories: Oval Punch, Large Rectangel Nestabilities, Blue Stickles, and lots of Dimensionals!
