Happy Friday!!! This week's Friday Fun challenge is hosted by Katherine. She challenged us to use the following colors on our card:
Rose Red
Regal Rose
Always Artichoke
and a neutral if desired.
You can find more inspiration for this challenge here:
Jimmi: The Stamping Shopper
Kim Muhl: Papertastic Creations
I have a Hip Hop Hangover (even though I left early I reall think I DO have a hangover from it...Ah!) so I used this image from Unity. It is Joy Words. You can buy it as part of a set or as a single.
I also decided to try watercoloring. I used to do it a lot but haven't lately so I am quite a bit rusty on this technique. I think I threw about 7 or 8 attempts in the trash before this one finally took (somewhat). I also got to play with Liquid Applique for the first time. How fun!!
I would love for you to play along with our challenge. Just link your card on one of our blogs and if you upload to SCS use keyword FFC8. Thanks for stopping by today- I hope to have more stampy goodness for you once I get some energy. :) Maybe tomorrow!

Unity Wedneday- HOPE Challenge
It's Wednesday and time for the challenge I do with some fellow Unity Junkies (see sidebar for links to their blogs). This week Cyndi is our hostess and she chose a recipe challenge based on HOPE:
H- have a sentiment about HOPE or with HOPE
O- have ribbon ON your card
P- have something PINK on your card
E- EMBELLISH with something that starts with M for MAMMOGRAM
Here is my card and how I met my requirement (I must tell you though the embellishment that starts with an M threw me for a loop):
O- I have turquoise ribbon
P- I colored my Angel Pink
E- I embellished my card with MONEY!! I shined up two dimes and stuck them on my card like brads or buttons!!
Feel free to play along with us on SCS. Use Keyword USC10 when uploading to the SCS Gallery. Thanks for stopping by and see you at Hip Hop on Thursday in the Unity Forum.

Hey Chick- Happy Monday!
Happy Monday to ya! This weekend was a huge stamping weekend for me. Saturday my friend Jimmi and I went to a stamp camp THEN went to a stamp show! It was so much fun. Saturday night was the Mini VSN so I got to play some more.
Today I wanted to share the card I made Sunday evening for Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge. This week Unity is sponsoring the sketch and it is a really good one. Of course I had to play along!
I made really girly card for this challenge with Unity's Hey Chick set.- I love this stamp set and you can really bling the image up. I used Black Diamond Stickles to jazz up my chick. I think I am going to send this card to someone who LOVES pink. ;) Thanks for stopping by today- I hope your week is off to a great start!

Friday Fun # 7- Roll with the Punches
Happy Friday!! This week for the Friday Fun Challenge that I do with three of my Sassy Sistahs it was my turn to hostess and choose the challenge. After a rough work week last week, I got this crazy idea in my head that it should be "Roll With the Punches." Pretty clever, huh? What that means for the challenge is this: You need to use a Wheel AND at least ONE Punch on your card. We want you to play along too- just link your card up here and if you upload to Splitcoast use keyword FFC7 so we can find it easier!
Check out these blogs for more Friday Fun Cards:
Jimmi: Stamping and Shopping
Katherine: Blame it on the Mojo
This week in addition to the challenge I decided to try something new. I saw a lot of great clear acetate cards in the Unity Gallery this week and I had to try it myself. I used the SU Jumbo Wheel Stars and Swirls (the only wheel I had that looked remotely Halloweeny) and carefully WHEELED it with Black Stazon onto an Acetate card base. This card was my second attempt- the first one smeared very badly. I put a layer of Vintage Violet underneath the card front (to help hide all the glue dots) and layered some DP and black on the front. Then I stamped Edward (oops I mean the vampire) and Jacob (I mean the werewolf) from Unity's set Boo Crew and colored them. I PUNCHED them with the 1 1/4" circle punch and layered them with a punched out circles of Vintage Violet and Black scalloped Circles. The sentiment which is a Unity Single is stamped in Vintage Violet. I added ribbon to the top just because I love ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by- I hope you play with us today! HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Unity Challenge Wednesday- the Recipe Challenge!
Happy Wednesday! This week our Unity Blog challenge is hosted by Lori and she is having uss make a recipe card. The recipe to follow is: Something/anything Clear (Button, crystal effects, acetate, etc.), ribbon, and to use something from your LATEST Unity Shipment.
For something clear I decided to try something new- stamping on acetate. Ribbon is easy for me- I love it and put it on almost every card so I chose my Riding Hood Red Taffeta. My latest Unity Shipment was my Kit Of the Month- Thinking about the Good Times.
My card is a 4 1/4" square card since the images from this kit are a little smaller than most Unity images. I stamped the flourishes from the KOTM on a 3x3 white CS square in Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette. Then I stamped the Sentiment: "We are the Music Makers & We are the Charmers of Charms" with black Stazon onto my 3x3 Acetate square and attached it to my card stock layers with pewter brads. I added my ribbon to my base then added some primas and voila! My card is done. I had a hard time getting a good picture of the card it looks better IRL.
Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out the other Unity Challenge Junkies' blogs (see sidebar) and feel free to play along. Just use keyword USC09 when uploading your card to Splitcoast so we can find your card! Happy Wednesday!!

It's time for some Friday Fun!
Woo hoo! It's FRIDAY!! I am happy for several reasons. It's been a long(er than normal) week at work; I am off tomorrow and I have "date" tonight with my sweetie! AND It's time for my challenge with my Sassy Sistahs Kim, Kath and Jimmi!!

I can't wait to see what everyone creates this week. Also, be sure to check out these blogs for more inspiration:

Jimmi issued a Sketch Challenge this week. She created it herself and I am so impressed with it. I didn't know she had this talent- but I'm not surprised. She's got talent oozing out of her perfectly manicured fingertips!!

My Christmas Swaps are done!
This week has been so hectic I wasn't sure if I would ever get them done! Between work, taking care of the house AND raising a teenage boy who thinks he knows it all (does anyone want one- I am willing to consider trades....) I have been running on empty. But last night I got my second wind and TA DA!! My Christmas swap card!
I hope I don't disappoint my fellow swappers. I have seen some of the other swaps and they are fabulous! I tend to be more traditional when it comes to Christmas cards. I love Christmas just the way it is and I make my cards that way too. I used the Unity Stamp Joy Words for my main (and only) image. I colored it with SU markers except for the Riding Hood Red which I used my ink pad and blender pen for. I accented the image with a Saukura Gelly Roll pen in Stardust and Frosted Lace Stickles. The designer paper is Holy Jolly Stripe from Flair Designs. I picked up these Prima Pointsettias at Michael's and they are just beautiful. It's a little disappointing however when you buy this huge tin of flowers and then open them and find there's an insert that takes up half the tin. Oh well. I still love them!
Thanks for stopping by- I hope you have a wonderful day and if you don't already know- It's Hip Hop Thursday in the Unity Forum. Check it out!

Unity Challenge Wednesday- It's a Boy (or a card for a boy)
This week's Unity Challenge for Wednesday was to make a masculine card. At first they wanted to challenge us to have our hubbies or boyfriends make a card, but since a lot of us said there was NO WAY that would ever happen we changed it to a card for a boy instead of made by a boy. If you are interested in this challenge and your Guy Thinks He can stamp - you can still participate- check it out here: Hip Hop Hubby Challenge. I would love for my boyfriend to try this and I think if he had the time he would humor me and try....but he is back to working full speed this week. Maybe one day!
My card uses the camper stamp from Unity's August KOTM (retired). I love this little stamp. The sentiment is from Simply Said. I kept everything simple since guys don't like a lot of frou frou LOL. I think that's why I don't like making masculine cards- I NEED frou frou!! The camper is paper-pieced with the DP and I accented it with brown brads. (no ribbon for guys, darn it!!) In case you can't see it, the card says "Good Things are Coming Your Way." Appropriate for a camper, don't ya think. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog- I hope that you will play along with us. When you upload your card in the SCS Gallery please use keyword USC08 so we can find your card easily. Be sure to check out the other Unity Junkies- their blog are on my sidebar.

HeartHugs Challenge!
Ashley over at HeartHugs issued a challenge. The challenge was to to make a card using environmentally friendly products OR recycle something you would normally have thrown away. Well, I don't think I have any environmentally friendly products so I recycled. This card is made with a bag from a purchase I made at the mall the other night. The clear plastic with flowers on it reminded me of vellum (which I never use, mind you). I also recycled some ribbon from an organza bag from Unity Stamps. If you've purchased from them then you know that their stamps come in the most adorable brown organza bags with ribbon. I stamped the main image twice - once in Kiwi Kiss and again in Tangerine Tango. I then cut the Tangerine Tango flower out and attached it to the Kiwi Kiss image to give it dimension. I would love to say the button is recycled but I can't. It's from a GIANT bag of buttons I purchased one day at A.C. Moore. Oh well. I tried!! Be sure to check out Ashley's Blog for her challenge and thanks for stopping by!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIMMI!!!!!
Good morning! Today is my BFF, Jimmi's Birthday! Happy Birthday! Jimmi and I have been friends for nearly 10 years and during those years we've seen a lot of good times and bad times. She got married, I got un-married and everything in between. :) We even have matching "tattoes". I may have never have brave enough to get a tattoo on my toe is she hadn't been right there with me getting one too! I am very thankful to have her in my life- she's a lot of fun and a great friend.
This is the card I made for her special day. I hope she likes it- I wanted it to be as special as she is! I used the Unity sets Oh What a Beautiful Morning and Simply Said. Her favorite colors are pink and green. I tried to incorporate both those colors on her card. I sponged the DP and the main image with creamy caramel trying to give it an "antiqued" look. Anyway- thanks for stopping by today and please stop by Jimmi's blog The Stamping Shopper and give her some birthday love!!

Friday Fun- #5!
Wow! I cannot believe it's the 5th week of my blog challenge with my Sassy Sistahs! Everyone has had a chance to hostess so we are starting over again with Kim this week. You can get all the details of the challenge on her blog Papertastic Creations. You can also get more inspiration here:
Jimmi: Stamping and Shopping
Katherine: Blame it on the Mojo
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Kim challenged us to use Pink and White (or Ivory) with another neutral (Black, Chocolate Chip or Kraft). I chose to make a 4.25" square card and use Pink and Chocolate (I threw in some Cocoa too- I hope that's ok since it's in the Chocolate family...LOL) I used the trio oftrees from the Unity KOTM for September Friendship, Love, Miracles. The sentiment is from the Unity kit Simply Said designed by AJ Otto .
The card is pretty simple as I was running out of time to get this posted! I paper-pieced the trees with SU Pretty in Pink Pallette O'Prints then accented them with my Close to Cocoa marker. I layered them with my new square Nestabilites and then I found this yummy Chocolate and Pink Ribbon I have had forever and had never used! (the horror of unused ribbon....)

Unity Challenge Wednesday!
I love Wednesdays for two reasons. One is the fact that work-wise, it is my "Friday" and two because of the Unity Junkie's Challenge every Wednesday.
This week's Hostess is Jess. The challenge she chose is to make a non A2 size/shape card. It can be tall, skinny, square, big, small or round. Whatever as long as it isn't your standard-sized A2 card.
Well, I haven't had much stamping time this week (I know- what else is new, right?) so I wanted to do something fun and simple. I pulled out my template for my Panty card. I got this template from my good friend Frances (Stampowl) and you can find it here on her blog: Panty Template. It is a super easy and quick card to make. If you don't believe me- try it out. You will be amazed.
The Butterfly stamp is from Trifle Sentiments and the "Hey Hottie" is from Lovin' From the Oven. I'm sorry- I just could NOT resist that combination. But it is truly just in fun.
Be sure to check out the other Unity Challenge Girls (aka Unity Junkies) blogs (see sidebar). They will have some amazing stuff for you I am sure. You can play with us too. Just use keyword USC7 when uploading your card. Wait- did I say 7?? Seriously- we have done 7 of these now! Time sure does fly when you are having fun! Thanks for stopping by.

It's World Card Making Day!
It's World Card Making Day! So what did I do? LOL! I cleaned my house, did some yardwork, washed my car and went grocery shopping. I know, I know! There has just been so much for me to do this week...and we all know on Thursdays my butt sits in front of the computer and at my stamp table nearly ALL day.
I did manage to make a card for AJ's Sketch Challenge. I used Unity's September KOTM, Friendship, Love and Miracles. It is no longer available- but you can still get October's which is just as adorable!! Sorry it's not that great- somewhere between moving the furniture and washing the car, I did something to my shoulder. It hurts like heck. Plus I am really tired!! I think my stampig MOJO took a flight out of town....
Here is a picture of my very clean car (see how SHINY it is.....it won't stay that way!):
Here's a picture of my new (to me) furniture. My favorite part is that I don't have to vacuum dog hair off of it!!
And here is Alex enjoying the new furniture (which I haven't had time to do yet) after I did all the work.....geesh!! (ok in all fairness- he did help with the yard work today BEFORE he went fishing....)
Don't forget that I am giving away blog candy- you have until Sunday 7pm EST to post a comment including a link to your Friday Fun Challenge card (see previous post for details) to win!! Good luck and HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!!!

Unity Challenge Wednesday! Can I get a Hip Hop??????
Phew! I made it. This week has been absolutely crazy at work. You would think that with the gas shortage across the country that people would be happy to at least have regular gas. Not so. Nope- despite the shortage being on every news channel and radio station I have station owners questioning me as to why they can't get PREMIUM gas. Geesh! They should be happy they have gas at all! It's been an extremely rough week but I didn't let that stop me from making my Unity Challenge card.
This week's hostess is Maggie. She chose a really cool sketch for our challenge. This card is also my first chance to play with September's Kit of the Month. I do not know how Angela does it but she manages to make each kit better than the last!! Her designers and artists are awesome!! You can play along- just make a card using the layout above. You can still play even if you don't have Unity stamps. Just use the keyword USC6 when you upload to the gallery.
I'm keeping it short today since Wednesdays are my "half" day (only the company I work for would consider 8 hours a half day.....)at work, but you can be sure I will be hanging out in the Unity Forum on Thursday for Hip Hop! Please join us for prizes and most of all GOOD TIMES!!
